CEA-List is proud to attend the Super Computing event, which is held in Dallas from 14th to 17th of November. Our experts will introduce the revolutionary “VXP”, an extended precision computing accelerator developed by CEA-List.
In the scientific computing, the precision is an essential factor to accelerate the computing convergence towards acceptable results. However, the current hardware solutions cannot adapt the precision beyond 64 bits. The researchers at CEA-List design and develop VXP, a hardware accelerator, which pushes the limit of that precision up to 512 bits and speeds-up the digital computing by factor 3!
VXP is a contribution of the european project EPI (European Processor Initiative).
